Another Aston yesterday and today.. and another Vanquish to come at the weekend.

This little V8 is just over 1200 miles old but had never really been prepared or detailed from new.

A few marks needed special attention with Menzerna 106FA and a polishing pad as the paint on this Vantage is a little harder than the Vanquish was..

Micromarring on the bonnet which was very stubborn and took 3 hits to correct

And some marks on the bootlid which took a couple of hits

Other marks around the car were corrected with one pass.

By the end of day one the car had been fully machined and given its first coat of Z Vintage wax. The fabric roof was also shampoo'd and protected.

Day 2 started with a 2nd coat of Vintage wax which was allowed to cure while the leather was cleaned with Z Leather Cleaner and then treated with Gliptone Liquid Leather. Carpets were vacuumed and shampoo'd.

2nd coat of wax buffed off and the finishing touches all sorted it was time for a few photos.

Now those tyre carpets are a good idea. I left my GT3 at a friends garage for a few weeks and when I drove it off, it took all the floor paint with it :D :D

That's quite the handsome car. Do you ever do NORMAL cars anymore???

Yeah you always are ;)
The 911 is more important though, Golf can wait. Needs to be sold in a couple months when replacement arrives.
Went to a body shop to get the chips and scratches filled, boy what a fuck up :(

Yeah, don't worry - I really enjoyed repainting the garage floor :chairshot:

I will have to look into this carpet thing...

just 4 carpet tiles under the wheels helps prevent the weight of the car sinking the tyres into the paint.. or in this case .. pulling the paint off. If your feeling really fulsh aswell.. you could even get MATCHING tiles... instead of the odd one out that seemed to be under this car :chairshot:

I fear that one of the corridors in my office is about to lose 4 carpet tiles...matching obviously

Great job Nathan, looks like it was also a fantastic environment to work in too.

I bought a whole load of carpet tiles from building that was being refitted (there are plenty around), and I only paid about 10p per tile. I plan to do the whole of my garage floor when I get round to it as it will only cost about 30 quid !

Wont be letting the missus in there with the hoover though !
