Dear All,
I'll try to keep this brief - I recently dropped my 04 C4S off for it's MOT at the local OPC (not bright, but what's done is done!).
I get the car back, two days late, unwashed and at kicking out time. As I am leaving, I notice the carbon fibre steering wheel has a six inch long scratch on it. Cue not very happy phone call back to OPC, where I arrange to bring it back the next morning. I drop the car off and tell them I won't take it back until it is sorted, to which they reply that the Service Manager won't be back until Monday, so he will look at it then. Fine by me, so I leave the car with them over the weekend, as I do not want them to say it was myself who did the damage.
Put a call into the Service Manager this afternoon, to be told it is "cracked" not "scratched" - "I've seen this happen before with Carbon Fibre steering wheels". I am stunned into silence on this one and promise to be back when I have consulted Porsche Head Office in GB.
So, what are my options - apart from going down there and throwing my toys out of the pram in a spectacular way! Can anyone substantiate problems with Porsche Carbon Fibre trim? Will head office be the least bit interested in this shabby treatment? Legally, what are my rights?
All suggestions gratefully received!
