A certain user who has done many many laps of the ring both racing and for fun has just adapted these brakes for his CSL

Very nice, I haven't spoken to Gareth since his trip. Has he let you know how he got on?

Yes
He said they were fantastic and the balance/bias was spot on - he did say though he wasnt as happy with the new pads compared to the old compound - He said he felt similar in your car after 2 laps os Oulton?

RS29's atm he prefers RS14's
Interestingly I am the other way road, I didn't like the 14's as much as the 29's

I used Orange (RS44) on my Impreza Turbo, found them to be excellent both on road and heavy track use...

He's getting some fronts made is RS14 material, depending on that he may go back to PF

The 29s are ok, but they break up and don't last too long performing well, they go into a dull performance mode.
The Mintex I am now using are far, far better. 6FR I think, but you have to ask Anthony/Julian at Simpsons to be sure.

Tony, how would the Mintex work with mixed road and pad use?
Would low-temp operation be poor, so not suited to combined use?
I find the 29's good for road and good enough for my abilities on track. Do you think the Mintex would suit an novice trackday driver?

I have used everything. 29s are better than 14s on the heavy CSL. 29s don't last long, they break up and their effectiveness fades and never comes back. 15s are incredible, but on-off with their braking, no subtlety.
PFC pads are ok, but also go "off" and don't recover.
The Mintex I am using now (6FR I think) are awesome. Bit really hard, and don't go off, and no noisier than pagid 29s
