Prices are to be confirmed. But there is to be an increase over the 996, insiders from Stuttgart have told me it will be approximatly 2%. But comes with more standard equipment. The cars that I have available will have a modest premium. But certainly not the £7k being offered by others without physical cars.

Not quite £70k. I estimate for a new C2 for delivery in September to be nearer the mid-early £60k

Are there any ordering guides available yet, with specs?
Given the Paris show is in Sept, the deliveries will be very close to the first public showing unless Porsche decide to show the car before the Paris Show as currently expected.
Any info on the likely first public showing?

Specification data won't be available until May. What I would recommend is that to get an idea of what spec you would like, with regards to Sat Nav. Sports Seats etc. Put this in writing along with the deposit (£500) so that when the options are released your car can then be immediatley spec'd to how you want it. Along with any other options that may appear.
The first cars will be issued to magazines in July for testing.
The first showing is still to be decided but Paris in September is the favourite. But by then the first cars will be delivered, so any orders made after this date could be "9 months away" (Quoting Porsche themselves).

ELMS,
Thanks for the info.
I'm not interested in ordering a C2 997, as the base cars won't be quick enough in comparison to my GT2, so I had already placed a letter of interest for a 997 Turbo (though thats a while away).
It's good to hear of progress though.

I've been in passenger jets that don't feel quick in comparison to GT2s! ;)

Guy - Looking at your cars on order I really do feel poor ;)
BTW Elms, can you let me know if ever get any 993 'S' (2S preferably but will consider a 4S) in stock - I've got a feeling that will have to do for now.
Cheers,
Gastro

It only costs a small amount to place the deposit, it's the paying for it bit thats much harder!
I wouldn't wish to have all the cars simultaneously - it would be very costly........
The M5 will only be for Q1 2005 and I don't expect the 997TT to arrive until 2006 (if at all).....
