As if January's arent depressing enough.....Christmas is over, its dark, its wet, its cold, its the longest month to stretch your salary over after the christmas excesses.....and worst of all.......its friggin payday for the bastid taxman!!

Just hope the IR doesn't loose your tax return (as they did with me last year). Cue receipt of £100 fine at the end of Jan, loads of phone calls, letters etc. IR finally admit that they lost a whole bunch of electronic submissions (incl mine). Then cue another fight because they now say it is too late to put through PAYE tax code adjustments (despite the cock-up being entirely their fault). And to cap it all, they then calcuate the wrong tax code and I have to fight that as well! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :(

I just want to know what pocesses someone to come out of college / university and say: "I know how to make myself unpopular with just about every person I meet, I'll join the Inland Revenue! What a great career that will be, bringing misery to millions"
